The challenge
Bookings, video calls and prescriptions lived in separate tools, and patients missed reminders.
Appointments were booked over the phone and tracked in a spreadsheet per doctor. No-shows were common, follow-ups depended on someone remembering to call, and remote patients had no option except travelling in.
What we built
One patient app for booking, video consultations and reminders, with a clinic dashboard that matches how doctors are scheduled.
A cross-platform patient app
One codebase for iOS and Android, for booking, rescheduling, video consultations and viewing prescriptions after the visit.
A clinic dashboard
Reception manages each doctor's slots, breaks and leave. Booking rules such as follow-up windows and visit lengths per consultation type are settings, not code.
Reminders that people answer
Push and SMS reminders with one-tap confirm or reschedule, sent at times the clinic chose.
Video consultations
A waiting room means a doctor running late doesn't leave the patient staring at a blank screen.
Engineering notes
Medical records stay in the clinic's existing system; the app reads and writes through a narrow API instead of copying data around. Audit logs record who viewed or changed what. Infrastructure is defined as code, so staging is a faithful copy of production.
Outcome
Booking, reminders and follow-ups moved out of phone calls and spreadsheets into one system that reception, doctors and patients all use. Patients outside the city can now be seen without travelling.
