The challenge
Growers walked the houses to read controllers, and overnight problems were only found in the morning.
Growers checked temperature, humidity and irrigation by walking the houses and reading individual controllers. Problems overnight were found in the morning. Harvest planning lived in a spreadsheet that was rarely up to date, which made committing volumes to buyers guesswork.
What we built
Sensor ingestion, a live dashboard per greenhouse, crop-aware alerts and harvest forecasting.
Sensor ingestion
Readings flow from climate controllers and field sensors into a time-series store, with gaps and faulty readings flagged rather than silently plotted.
A dashboard per greenhouse
It shows current conditions against each crop's target ranges, plus trends over the last day, week and season.
Alerts that matter
Thresholds are set per crop and growth stage, with escalation if nobody acknowledges an alert. Growers get a message on their phone, not just a red light on a screen.
Harvest tracking and forecasting
Each harvest is logged against its planting, and expected volumes for the coming weeks are estimated from crop stage and recent yields.
Role-based access
Separate access for growers, managers and IT, with sign-in through the company's existing identity provider.
Outcome
Growers see every house from one screen, hear about drifting conditions when they happen instead of the next morning, and managers plan harvests from live data rather than a stale spreadsheet.
